cruiselubbers Posted April 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Just wondered if anyone knew if a departure flight from Tampa at 1:10pm was too early to book a return flight? Carnival Inspiration is the ship I will debark from! Thanks & blessings! :p
keishashadow Posted April 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Call carnival & they'll let you know the earliest arrival/departure flights they suggest you book. For us, it's 2:30 p.m. arrival & 11:30 a.m. departure from Tampa. Agent did suggest self-disembarkation (as in you don't put your luggage out the night before & haul it yourself in the am). Said the Legend docks around 8:00 a.m. & we could be at airport by 9:30/10:00 a.m. if we caught a cab. Cuts it too close for my liking though;)
suncoastgirl Posted April 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Your biggest challenge will be the ship clearing customs and if there are othere ships in the channel. There is a very narrow channel leading into Tampa Bay. Not a lot of room. This sometimes slows down ships. It is only about a 15 minute taxi ride from the port to the airport. If you think you might cut it close do the self disembark.

This should be no problem, if the ship gets to port ontime, and then it clears in a reasonable length of time. We made a 12:05pm flight in March with ease.
