Legend 4/9- A novice review

So many people helped me get ready for my first cruise experience that I thought I could give something back to those just starting out.

The Legend is a beautiful ship- large and yet easy to get around. Most everything you need is on the Atlantic (shopping), Promenade (entertainment) and Lido (buffet) decks. I found there was ample room to lay out by a pool or get a seat at many different casino games.

I did not feel that the food quality was very good. Sure, there is plenty to eat. I actually think the buffet was better than the dinner restaurant where the meals I had were overcooked and not very tasty. If you are used to fine dining, you might want to try a different cruise line.

The evening shows were compilations of many songs trying to connect into a theme. They were pretty hokey. I actually fell asleep in the second night show. Don't expect Broadway and you might make it through.

There are plenty of activities to keep you busy but I personally enjoyed the casino the most. The whole staff there were alot of fun and the machines paid out pretty generously. You can use your sign and sail card for the entire use of the slots. Credit back to your account the balance you have on one machine and just debit some money into the next machine to keep playing. It was great to not have to go anywhere and worry about cash.

The drinks are expensive. Beer $5-6, wine even more. Mixed drinks even more. Believe me, it adds up quickly. Even a can of soda is $2 but if you plan on drinking soda all the time, buy a soda card. It was around $25 for all you can drink. Great for kids. Bingo is pretty costly too. $20 for 3 cards but only one game. Pray that you are the lucky one to win but you have alot of competition.

We had alot of kids on our cruise- Easter weekend- and most seemed pretty happy so I would have to say that Camp Carnival must be very good.

I had a great time, but it was more the people on board than all the offerings of Carnival that made it great. If you have any specific questions or comments, I will check back for a while to answer them. Hope this helps somebody in their cruise choice.

I don't know what cruise line you were on but you have your drink prices very much confused. Even the frozen drinks in a regular glass are like $4.95. I know here at home I can not get a margarita for that pirce and beer is not $6.

Where does this review say anything about hating Carnival? I have read the review and I appreciate the comments. He thought the food quality was not great in the main dining room, but was better in the buffet. The entertainment was not so good.

But the review also states he had a great time, and thought the ship was beautiful.

This is one reviewers opinion....nothing said about hating CARNIVAL, as Bearfan states.

Why does anyone have to bash an opinion?
