Island Beach Break

Just back from a 5 day on the NCL Pearl. We took the Island beach break in Belize and loved it. So relaxing.

The tender takes you right from your ship to the island. We were there for 4 hours. It is a little rustic but it is Belize. The beer was cold(you get a free rum punch, too much punch) and the food very good. The beach was large and plenty of lounge chairs and floats. You could also rent a ocean kayake(we did)to cruise around the inlets. We were more than ready to head back for a shower after a day of fun in the sun.

Yes it was Bannister Island. No lunch not included with this excursion on NCL. Just a free rum punch(beer much better though). All the food looked great. We had some chicken tacos very good(tasted like Jerk chicken).

We went to Bannister Island with Fab Tours. Nice place and they had a snorkel trip out to a reef. We saw alot of fish and coral. Prices run from $30 something to $50 depending on what you want to do and how much you haggle. You can book it at the tender dock if you don't want to take the boat tour.

Is there a water taxi service near the dock that you tender in to that will take you back and forth to Bannister Island? We would like to go there but not on the ships tour. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't think that the water taxis go there, but I can't say that for a fact. You might do a google and find something, but it is so easy to book at the tender dock that I have not tried anything else.

I think that we paid $45@ but we booked the snorkel trip and had our own equipment. It ran from about $35-$50 depending on the itinerary. They can dump you off at the island (which is nice), or you can take the reef snorkel and then return to the island for some sun, food and drink. It is a great way to spend the day.

P.S. They served ice water in sealed plastic bags on the boat. That was a first for me.
