cheaptravel Posted April 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2007 New poster here. We'll be visiting Grand Cayman during our June '07 cruise. We really want to go north to Rum Point, but the ferry times won't gel with the time we have to get back to the ship. I know there are mini-buses you can catch by the library. Anyone know how much it might cost to get there this way? I think I read it's about a 45 minute drive. Thanks in advance!:)
leahsdad Posted April 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2007 the ferry to rum point has not run in some time unless it just started up since march---best way to rum point is to rent a car and drive---we rented at cicoavis--they pick u up near the dock and shutle you to the airport--good directions to rumpoint--return car and they drop you back at the dock\\its a beautiful spot and driving on the left was not a major issue (every else is--lol) hope this helps Paul
drew sailbum Posted April 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2007 The Rum Point ferry has not been in service in more than two and a half years. The public omnibuses do not go as far as Rum Point - they stop 3 miles away at Hutland. If you want to visit Rum Point by land, you need to rent a car. twinkletoes4445 Posted April 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2007 I'd rent a car. It's a pretty (and safe) drive.
