Pia1913 Posted April 20, 2007 #26 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Not to "high-jack" this thread, but we had dinner last year on the Sea with a couple whose TA told them "you do not need any cash, all you need to do is charge everything to your cruise card"....so they were a bit surprised when the local ladies on the street-side in Grenada would not take their cruise card for payment of assorted spices and trinkets. LOL!!! :D :D :D
Pam in CA Posted April 20, 2007 #27 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Were you able to keep a straight face when they said that? Did they use a TA or book themmselves? A good TA would have explained that to clients who never cruised before. If they booked through the cruise line directly, they probably wouldn't have known that.I didn't even bother to say anything since this was my business partner and he knew it all. They didn't use a TA, booking everything on the cheap on the Internet but I didn't know that until afterwards. After that, he made fun of me every time I was leaving for a cruise. Oh well. I'm retired now. :)
Pam in CA Posted April 20, 2007 #28 Share Posted April 20, 2007  I almost feel sorry for them...... almostDon't feel sorry for them. This was my partner and he made the same $$ I was so I knew he could afford it. Heck, with my income from the business at the time, I bought a condo in southern CA for an investment. :) He could afford a couple of tours.
