flitter306 Posted April 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2007 FI and I booked B2B cruises for our honeymoon later this year. Final payment is due in June and I imagine that's when we need to purchase trip insurance by? (Please correct me if I'm wrong!) -Do you recommend any particular agency for trip insurance? -Can I get an insurance that covers both the flights and the cruises - or do I need separate policies? -What exactly does the insurance cover? (i.e. illness, weather, etc.) -Are there other things I should know before getting the insurance? On our last cruise we got the insurance through Carnival, but now that I've been following CC boards, I think there are better alternatives out there. And considering this is our honeymoon, I want to make sure everything is done right - so please help!! TIA
Bunkie103 Posted April 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2007 If you go to insuremytrip.com you can compare policies and purchase what YOU need and what YOU feel is important. As a nurse I always worry about Medical Evacuation....also because I'm probably older than you. Give it a try, I have always been happy with the quotes and the policies I have purchased. Luckily I have never needed to make a claim.;)
5String Posted April 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Another good place I've found to make 'side-by-side' comparisons for travel insurance is here: http://www.tripinsurancestore.com . (I'm not affiliated in any way.) One thing to be aware of when buying travel insurance is whether your policy is 'Primary" or 'Secondary'. There is a very important difference. Making the wrong choice could be a nightmare should you ever need to use the insurance coverage. Good Luck.
Donna - dsw Posted April 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2007 http://www.statravel.com I have been given this to check out - have not used them myself yet. I understand they are good for everyone - not just students.
