EastTexans2 Posted April 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Have any of you done b/b cruising? Does Carnival handle it the same as RCI.......you don't have to move your stuff, they just take you off and have you come back through with your new Sail cards? Yep, if you have the same cabin for the second leg.
GoinCruisin Posted April 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2007 I am doing my first back to back next October... if you book a guarantee, there is no guarantee you will have the same cabin on both trips... so you would need to book a specific cabin to make sure of that... we are doing a $25 deposit, with the remaining deposit not due until next June, so at that time, I'll pick a cabin for both cruises... I certainly do not want to have to move to another cabin mid-cruise!!!! :)
LMHSRN Posted April 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2007 We are doing a BtoB in August/Sept. Carnival told us that you do not get off the ship. You go to pursers desk night before end of first cruise. They close that account and issue you a new S&S card. In the morning, (if you have to change cabins) you pack your things and they move them to the new cabin while you enjoy the ship all to yourself after everyone else has gotten off. chasetf Posted April 20, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2007 When turning around in a US port, on another cruise line, we were led off the ship (with our passports) to go through immigration and then reboarded. We did not have to take our luggage or go through customs.
EastTexans2 Posted April 20, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Thank you all for your input. We are looking at a B2B for Sept. 2008 out of Galveston. We plan to book the same cabin so it should be pretty easy. We will be new to Carnival since our past cruises have been on RCCL. But it doesn't look like RCCL is going to keep a ship in Galveston permanently in 2008.

You have to get a new SnS card w/pix...just like a new pax, only no crowds..I will do this again in Oct. I had the same 6 cat cabin upgrade last year, and this is what CCL did for me..Do not forget your next set of docs or passport
