SWEngr Posted April 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2007 We will be on the western itinerary of Mariner in June. Does the ship change time to match the island times or do they stay on EDT and be an hour off from all the ports? I do know that Cayman Islands and Jamaica do not have daylight savings and are thus an hour earlier than EDT and that Cozumel is on Central time with daylight saving, also resulting in an hour difference vs EDT. I'm booking my shore excursions and I need to know if there is a time difference or not.
Cruisenut1966 Posted April 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Ships always stay on EST. No matter where you are.
nichb0 Posted April 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2007 Ships always stay on EST. No matter where you are. In June (as now) it will be on EDT. We did the western on Mariner in March after the U.S. had switched to DST. Everyplace we went was one hour behind us, except Cozumel which was 2 hours behind ship time. So you have to be aware of that. Just keep your watch on ship time and you will be fine.
ali07 Posted April 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2007 I second that. We were on the Mariner last month and we were told to stay on ship's time (that means don't ask locals for the time because it will be wrong).
