RM0312 Posted August 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2004 I read where there are "built in" blowdryers in the cabins. Is this true of all cabins including the inside cabins? Also are the blankets provided sufficient for the Alaska cruise? Thanks
SweetEmi Posted August 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2004 I can't speak for the Spirit, but they did definately have them on the Star in the insides...I just read another post where they asked for and got another blanket from the room steward for chilly days on the balcony. So, I'm sure if you need another blanket, you can get one... Emi
Laura4cruise Posted August 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2004 Yes, there was a hair dryer in our inside cabin on the Spirit. We never used it, though. I really loved the duvet we had on the bed; I thought it was great for us, but we did have unusually hot weather on our cruise. I noticed at least one blanket already in the closet, but of course we never used it. You also do have a temperature control in your cabin, so you can make it warmer or colder as you please. cruise pup Posted August 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2004 I saw a photo of an inside cabin on Spirit (can't remember who posted it). It looked really cute. There is a window shaped picture of an ocean view with scenery on the wall where a window would be in an outside cabin. I'll look for it an attach the link if I find it. Link won't post. You'll find it under a thread from bmorri for Spirit pics on the Norwegian board.
Laura4cruise Posted August 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2004 Here's a picture of an inside: http://164.109.173.140/spirit_slideshow/pages/P5220405_JPG.htm The life preserver in the painting on the wall still says "SuperStar Leo".
susanv64 Posted August 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Can the beds in the inside cabins be positioned together? I have only seen them pictured apart. Even when I booked my cabin, I wasn't asked if we wanted the beds apart or together. Sue
SweetEmi Posted August 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Yes...you can put them together and I read on here that if you ask your steward, they can make the bed up as one bed...(one queen size sheet, etc). I think I read that someone asked for that ahead of time but it didn't happen...but the steward fixed it. Also...I have read that you can request one of the eggshell mattress things too...never tried to though myself. Emi

SweetEmi Posted August 8, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Sue: You're very welcome...I slept great last time, but am thinking of seeing if I can get one of the eggshell mattress covers...I have one on my bed at home. Emi
woodz Posted August 9, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 9, 2004 We had an inside on the Star (very similar to Spirit) and the twins made up into a very comfy queen bed. DH turned the A/C down and many afternoons we took a nap in the quiet darkness.
RM0312 Posted August 9, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted August 9, 2004 Thanks for the feedback as well as the added question concerning the beds being pushed together. We requested the beds together and it was acknowledged as such on our confirmation e-mail (we shall see how it works). We received our documents this past weekend :) . Driving to Seattle on Friday after work and boarding the ship on Saturday AM!
susanv64 Posted August 10, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 10, 2004 RM0312.....Please let us know how you liked it when you get back. I'm booked to take this cruise, but sadly, not until Sept. '05. I'd love to know your impressions of the Spirit. Sue
