paddycake Posted April 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2007 Anyone ever stayed in a forward inside cabin? Any problems with motion? Would there be much difference between the forward and aft location?
serene56 Posted April 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2007 we had 227 on the main deck on Sensation. I prefer the aft. Not all elevators go to the lido deck-- and there are a lot of dead ends on the ship. Promanade deck in the one deck that goes all the way front to back. The front will feel more motion then elsewhere. If you hit rough waters you will feel that motion no matter where you are. We have always stayed in the aft. (on the older ships you might notice a vibration/shuddering when pulling in and out of port. when are you looking to sail?
paddycake Posted April 26, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted April 26, 2007 Hi Serene56, We're sailing in June from NO to Cozumel. Short 4 day trip. I have been in forward cabins on 2 other cruises. One ship was smaller than the Fantasy and we felt ALOT of motion but just accepted it and went on about our great vacation. I was not sea sick but my husband felt queasy off and on for several days. The other was the Conquest and it was super smooth. Never felt any motion. This ship is between the 2 classes. My gut feeling tells me to change cabins to mid or aft. I remember the PVP saying "oh, you'll definately want to be forward"--it through me off like she was giving me a tip and doing me a favor! I'm sure it will be fine either way. Maybe I'm analyzing it too much! :o
AZbeachboy Posted April 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2007 We have been on the Fantasy twice. The first was a lower inside cabin, one of the promotional cabins. It was our first cruise and we had a blast. We did not feel any ocean sway. It was October and when the Fansasy left Port Canaveral to the Bahamas. (1997) We did the same cruise in 92 and were on the upper deck midship and it was fine. It a larger ship and the weather has never been bad enought to brother the ship. Hope this helps. aragerwku Posted June 25, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2007 We're cruising on the Fantasy for the first time in October. The last cruise we took was on the Carnival Miracle and had a oceanview room on the Riveria deck. This time we have the choice of either oceanview room E47, U159, or U189. We have two small children so we want something close to an elevator near the rear elevator. There are also several available rooms on the Main deck. What do you think would be the best room that would fit our needs? Is the Fantasy a nice ship because I've heard mixed reviews?
