Herenks Posted April 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2007 My cruise ship gets in at 7 am. I think I can be off the ship by 8ish hopefully. My flight is at 11:25. Will I have problems making it from the RCCL dock?
JXR Posted April 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Don't forget that even though the ship gets in at 7am, the ship still needs to clear Customs & Immigration. In my book, 11:25am, is cutting it a bit too close. It is doable if everything goes smoothly. Plus, PR airport gets quite congested ... There are thousands of people trying to leave the island, and the only way out is by air. Joanne
98Charlie Posted April 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2007 We've flown out of SJU twice. Both times, very congested with the line for security clearance around an hour. If everything goes smooth (ship docks on time, clears customs, you have an early disembarkation tag, find your luggage, grab a cab, no long lines for check-in, no hitches for security) you'll make it.:) OTOH, if Mr. Murphy shows up (you're familiar with his law), you'll be waiting on standby for a future flight. Charlie
Last Mango Posted April 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2007 Yes, the ship was in port for 7:00 but it was almost 11:00 before any passengers were allowed to leave the ship. Immigration insisted on clearing all luggage before anyone was allowed to leave the ship. We had arranged a tour before our flight but when arrived at the airport we were in line for close to an hour. Speaking to a few business travellers on our flight, it seems this is pretty normal on "cruise" days. According to them, Fridays are the worst. Good luck!
