cakeone Posted August 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Will be in Belize (8/29 Explorer) and have read many great things about cavetubing in Belize. I have one major possible problem about doing this excursion: my S/O is incredibly claustrophobic and fears the 'cave' experience. Can anyone relate and ease her fears (or validate them?) And - if we decide to go - any recommendations on who to do the cavetubing tour with? Thanks for all the great info from everyone on this board!! spfar Posted August 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2004 I would recommend marvin at Wet & Wild - cavetubing@yahoo.com. He and his staff are great. I'm not claustrophobic, but I can assure you that the caves are huge! Being in a cave is like being in a dark gymnasium. Everyone has headlamps on so you aren't really in the pitch dark and there are openings here and there as you float along. The only tight inclosed space was one of the caves in the rainforest on the way to the river , and it was maybe 15 steps. you could see the exit in front of you. Other than that it's really wide open.
