Guarantee Cabin - booking 2 cabins

We would like to book a balcony and an inside cabin. Has anyone ever booked guarantee cabins and said "try to get us somewhat close to the other cabin"....and what were the results?

 

It would save us about 600 booking guarantee vs picking actual cabin numbers. The travel agent said they would do their best...but I am wondering if they even have a say in it, as it would be assigned by Carnival.

we booked 8 rooms, 2 inside, 6 balcony

 

 

5 ended up on deck 8, 1 one deck 6, and the two inside on deck 4.

Were they near each other on the same deck?

nope. They were scattered. But we were never half a ship from one another.

On June Paradise cruise we booked an inside guarantee as did our friends who were sailing with us. The two reservations were "linked" and we ended up with side by side porthole cabins on deck 4.

Shouldn't be a problem. My son and his friend booked two OV cabins, and were assured by the PVP that their cabins are 'linked', and will be in the same general area on the same deck, and will have the same dining assignment.

Ditto on making sure the TA links the reservations. May be no guarantees but your chance will be MUCH better.

I booked for wife and I and another couple for the Triumph in Sept. Booked thru Carnival PVP gty balcony. Just checked our bookings on Carnival website and we are on Lido deck, cabins next to each other. So with us evetything is good.
