Stingray/Snorkel Tour

Has anyone done the Stingray adventure tour in Nassau? If so, what company did you use and how would you rate it?

For those who have done it both here in Nassau as well as in Grand Cayman which do you rate as a better experience?

Thanks.

Hi, we did Blackbeard's Cay Stingray and Beach excursion. Also have been to GC several years ago.

I don't know which I would say is my favorite, here are the pluses and minuses:

Nassau:

+ Not crowded

+ Lots of stingrays, big ones and babies

+ Beach is right there, you can swim with the stingrays, then get a drink and lounge on the beach, plus a small shop and restrooms

- Stingrays are in a pen and have been debobbed - not a natural setting

+ Some may like the fact that the stingrays have been debobbed

- There is some coral, which they tell you to be careful of. I wasn't, and cut my foot and missed out on the feeding time. But they had a great first aid station.

Grand Cayman:

+ Natural setting, stingrays are in their natural habitat, they come see you because they want to

- Stingrays not debobbed, some may not like this, I'm ok with it

- Crowded

+ Easy to feed them

I have some pictures of the Blackbeard's Cay stingray pen and beach, so email me if you would like to see them @ suzybruner@aol.com.

Happy cruising,

Suzy
