how does it work in the wifi area's ?

if the lap top has wireless capabilities

do i need to purchase anything to use

the lap top while on ship ?

If the laptop you purchase already is 'WiFi' enabled (already has this built into it) then you are set to go without buying anything else.

Not sure which ship you are going on but I LOVED sitting out on my balcony e-mailing my family on the Freedom. I just had to go to the Internet Cafe to get signed up and I was set for the rest of the week. I was only online long enough to send/receive e-mails. Internet was slow but not as slow as on my last cruise. Ended up spending about $10 for the week.

I was excited about finally being able to bring a laptop with me... won't do it again. Sure, it was a novel thing to do, sitting there in my stateroom, sending out emails, but it was SO slow. I decided I'd much rather pop into the internet cafe, throw out a couple emails and be done with it.

:D A little trick you might want to use since time is very expensive on board the ships.

 

Write your messages in a word processor, use copy command, open your email, paste and send.
