For those that hate to Tender out, they should have their new cruise terminal up by Oct. - Nov of 2007.

Belize Ports Ltd. and Carnival Corporation & plc have finalized a joint venture agreement with the government of Belize to build a new cruise port in the Port Loyola Area of Belize City. The new company, “Belize Cruise Terminal Limited”, will begin construction of the project this coming Fall 2005 and expects to have the port ready by November 1, 2007.

Belize Cruise Terminal Limited, will receive four U.S. dollars from the government head tax levied on each passenger that uses the new port facility. That tax is currently at seven dollars per passenger. By the time the project is completed in October 2007 there should be over a million cruise tourists visiting Belize annually.

Warm greetings from Belize!

Thank you for your interest in Belize! The new cruise port is still not in construction phase at this time as the plans are still being discussed. It is proposed that the new cruise port be located in the South part of Belize City, still a fairly far distance from the current cruise port.

Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Thanks for the Update, sound like Carnival is still having problems with the locals and building it.
