Confused--can you rent chairs at Palm beach or not?

Hi,

Visiting Aruba for the first time in November '07. Palm Beach sounds wonderful, but after reading some posts, I can't tell if you can rent beach chairs/umbrellas or not (some sound like only hotel guests can use them)?

You are unable to use the chaise lounges and shade palapas of the resorts along Palm Beach, HOWEVER, the beaches in Aruba are all open to the public. There are vendors up and down the entire stretch of beach who rent both chaise lounges and umbrellas. For more info check out some of these threads:
