mirage2u Posted May 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2007 does anyony know if you can get to tabyana beach booking your own taxi (not going through the ship)? and how much it would be? i'm under the impression if you don't book through the ship you can't use the resorts facilities, is this correct? SeaPA1 Posted May 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2007 To use the facilities at Tabiyana Beach Resort, you must book through the cruiseship. But TBR is one small resort on a big, long beach known as West Bay Beach; there are a number of bars, lodges, and restaurants that will be more than happy to serve you food & beverages throughout the day, and allow you to use their bathrooms & such as long as you are spending some money there. And yes, you can easily get a taxi to West Bay Beach. Alternatively, you can get a taxi to West End (a nearby community of shops, bars, restaurants, and scuba diving shops) and then take a "water taxi" (i.e. small boat) from there to West Bay Beach & see some of the nice views along the shoreline. dean_roatan Posted May 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2007 Tabyana is an old name for West Bay Beach, plenty of resorts offer facilities for cruiseship passengers, looking into a tour before arrival - check out some other aspects of the island or hook up with a driver on arrival in Roatan.
