baldheadedgeek Posted May 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2007 We are on the PO Aloha on May 27th and I've been debating on whether or not to try this excursion through NCL. I really enjoy snorkeling and think the kayaking sounds interesting. I can't find any reviews good or bad about it. Mainly, I'd like to know how the snorkeling is. How does it compare to some of the places mentioned here like the Captain Cook monument? Here is the description from NCL: Kayak along 4 miles of the scenic Kona coastline and black lava sea cliffs to Kuamoo Bay. Along the way, see great sea caves and giant lava tubes; you may even sight a playful dolphin or a green sea turtle! Then jump into the waters of a protected cove to snorkel and see some of Hawaii's marine life up-close. Don't worry beginners, a friendly and knowledgeable guide will greet you and provide you with basic paddling and snorkeling instructions and safety information. After your fun day of kayaking and snorkeling, make the return ride to the pier via air-conditioned van. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age. You should expect to paddle at a moderately active pace for approximately 3 ½ miles round trip. We recommend you wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. This tour is not recommended for those with back problems or heart conditions. Thanks for any input.
