NEENEE Posted May 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2007 I am booked on Freedom, Sept 7, 2008 sailing from Civitavecchia. Normally I make my own way to the port, however thought I would do 3 days pre sail in Rome. My question is can anyone give me some insight to the Carnival pre-cruise hotels and transfers. I will be travelling on my own and the costs of private transfers for one are quiet expensive. I have also looked at taking the train however they seem to be on strike a lot and really don't want to risk that either. If anyone can give me an indication of price so I can compare to doing myself. Also do you book directly with Carnival or thru TA?. I am in Australia and book thru a USA TA. Thanks in advance
blessedbe111 Posted April 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2008 Hi, I wouldn't worry about the strikers. I was on Carnival Liberty a couple of years ago and used the train to get to Civitavecchia. Back then they were saying the same things about the strikes, but it wasn't a problem. For the price and convenience, you can't go wrong with the train.
