Pride, anyone? Tell me your experiences on her....

I loved the Pride.......I thought the decor was lovely. I know that's been hotly debated around here, but I did like it! It was an actual theme, rather than just a bunch of neon and glass. I have not been on either of the other ships you named (going on the Triumph in November) so, sorry, I cannot compare!

LOVED the Pride!!! Fisrt Ship I was on and has a blast!!! Food was great, waiter amazing but the best part for this county girl ( Yes I know Im from Jersey but spent most of my summers in tenn and south and I love County music) was the county singer at the casino! He was there every night and by far, next to the night club, was my fav part! Dont remember his name but loved the mullet and how he played every request! He even went and learned a Brooks and Dunn song just for me!!!!! Go for the Pride, you wont be disapointed!!!!!!!

Been on the Valor (loved it), Triumph (had a good time, ship was kind of worn around the edges)...can anyone compare the Pride to either/both of those ships? Battling some PCD and want to start planning our next trip...:D

Pride beats them both, hands down. Enjoy the Riviera, I responded to your other thread that was moved.

I loved the Pride. It has so much character, without being gaudy or over the top. The little cantina type club in which they have Karaoke is just awesome. Wonderful ambiance.

Hi all!! I am part of Janet's group! We have a long wait but are looking forward to this cruise! My parents (who have sailed many, many times) have sailed on the Pride and loved her also! Mom still have very fond memories of that ship!

Can't wait to meet you all!!

I LOVED the Pride when we sailed last year. If you'll look in my signature below you will see a link to my website about the Pride. There are several reviews there, including my own, and pictures of the ship and the ports. You will have a blast on the Pride!

We had such a good time on the Pride earlier this year, that we came home and immediately booked on her again for Christmas! We tried to book onboard, but Carnival doesn't offer that. Jeff Bronson IS still the CD, but the captain has recently changed. Not sure if that makes much of a difference. Some captains make their presence known, others do not. I have pictures in my signature. Enjoy!!

  • 4 weeks later...

My wife and I went on our very first cruise to celebrate our 4 year anniversary with the CARNIVAL PRIDE SHIP!

We did the 7 night Mexican cruise and LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!

During the day I actually was very busy with all the fun activities myself including trivia contests, bingo, golf contests, etc. while my wife truly relaxed on the deck enjoying the sun.

During the evening my wife and I loved the shows, dancing and even the food. We only went to the formal sitting twice during the entire cruise and that was nice. We, however, much prefer to go through the buffet line and help ourselves which we did.

The reason I enjoyed our cruise so much was our Cruise Director - Jeff Bronson! This guy was awesome!!!! From his morning announcements to introducing each show he had so much energy, enthusiasm and awesome service!!! He really made us feel like we were part of something special which we were. He also is SOOOOO FUNNY and always brought us to laughter with his fun quirky sayings like, "bye y'all" and his funny thumbs up everytime he greeted us.

All the other staff was awesome as well including the Casino Host ANTON O'BYRNE who called us by name everytime he saw us!!! And we only really gamble on the penney machines. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!

Another great part of the cruise was that we kept running into the same people which made it easy to form some quick friendships.

We stopped at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Los Cabos.

During our stop at Puerto Vallarta we took a shore excursion to the Island of Las Calitas which was awesome.

For Mazatlan we did the shopping, beach and lunch tour which actually was great because we were allowed to use all the facilities at a very nice hotel including a buffet lunch.

Finally for Los Cabos (only there from 7am to 3pm) we didn't do any excursion. We got some great advice and just walked from where they drop you off to the downtown shopping area which was only about 10 minutes walk. From there we took a cab (only 6 dollars) to the beautiful beach (where everyone goes) called NIKKI BEACH where we layed on the sand and rented a wave runner.

LOS CABOS was my favorite spot with the crystal blue water. We will go back to Los Cabos someday.

I will truly go with Carnival again and can't wait to get back on board!!!!

It's been two weeks since our cruise ended and I'm still raving about it to my family and friends!!!!!!

Hope this helps someone thinking about cruising with Carnival!!! A++++

We were on the Pride 12/06 and on the Valor 02/06. While the Pride is not as new as the Valor it was extremely well maintained. I liked the Pride so much better than the Valor. The food in both the dining room and the buffet was great (and I'm very picky about the food). The whole crew could not have been nicer. And as others have said there is just an upbeat feeling all about this ship.

The thing I didn't like (which may not be a problem for you) was that the Pacific was so much more rough than the Caribbean. I know that weather changes but I have read on these boards that it is common on this route for the cruise to be rough in the beginning and at the end. However, even though I though it would be a problem, both my husband and I were fine.

I loved this ship and it's ports.:)

I miss Pride so much and can't wait to go on her again. We had an extended balcony 6232 IT WAS AMAZING! That ship is very beautiful. You will love it.

Pride is about my favorite out of all the ships I've been on. It is so beautiful and it is longer and more narrow than Triumph or Valor. Trust my brain on this one!:)

Been on Pride twice.. Very nice ship, not too big or small, just right. It's also good for a variety of balcony's, it has lots!

Gonna be on the Pride in less than two weeks. :D Room 7301 balcony. I promise to post full review and pics once we are home. My recommendation would be to book a summer trip over a winter trip. The pacific can be rough in the winter. I know, my febuary trip was rough.

First off, the Pride is easy to navigate. You won't get lost. No roadblocks like most ships out there today. The Spirit Class ships are the best Carnival has in my opinion. I've been on 3 different classes of Carnival ships, and the Spirit Class wins hands down. I found the Spirit equally as nice as the Pride due to being the same layout. You know, though, there's just something special about the Pride. Crewmembers love being on that ship. I've even talked to other crewmembers on other Carnival ships and they long to be on the Pride. It must be an L.A. thing, I don't know. If it was about the ports, give me San Diego or Seattle. Also, regarding food......The Supper Club (David's) on the Pride has been some of the best food I've ever had. I've been on a few ships with "Pay" dining, but David's is still #1......Now, when it comes to the crew, it's a crap shoot. Pride cruise #1 was simply the best I've ever had, but the 2nd go around on the Pride was just OK. Food is a toss up as well. It's a matter of taste on some things. Any other questions, just ask. Hey, Fred, nice to see you again......Hey Smoo, how's Porterville treating you? I'm so far from you (Exeter)........Ok, I know nobody has a clue where Exeter, California is..........

David
