What To Do?

This is the first time I will be in San Juan for the day. The new Triumph itinerary includes the daytime visit, have always gotten in at 4-5pm.

I was thinking about going to the Condodo...always heard it was a cool beach, shopping, people watching day! Anyone with any info on this?

How far? How much for cab? Is it worth it?

Any other ideas?

I m traveling with a girlfriend (her first cruise) and we are sailing/snorkling/shopping in St Thomas...beaching in Half Moon Cay...beaching/snorkling in Grand Turk.

Looking for ideas for something cool in San Juan that 2 middle aged (but we refuse to believe that) ladies can do?

Thanks for the help

You sound like the ultimate travelers! Condado is my "home away" for

a few winter months. It is not far at all from OSJ, just across the lagoon.

My suggestion would be to start at Condado Plaza Hotel and walk along

Ashford Avenue. There are small and large places to eat and drink, places to

sit along the ocean front, some nice and some not-so-nice places to shop.

There is lots of construction, but I don't think it would bother you. The

Marriott Hotel is in a nice area (mine), more of everything I mentioned and great people watching. One lady I would see often, has a cat that goes with

her (unless it rains, cat doesn't like to get wet). Eleanor's is an upscale shop

you should visit, has a fabulous bargain table. Ambassador Hotel has a very

good casino, where you can WIN sometimes! Have a great day, wish I were

there to share it.:D

Before you converge, take a look at Isla Verde beach as well. It is a little further down to the east (next beach). The beaches are much better. The main strip is right off the beach as well. Condado might be your choice if shopping is more your thing, but if it is beaches, then it would be Isla Verde.
