lawyer180 Posted May 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2007 Hi, our flight into Miami arrives at 8:30 a.m. What time can you start boarding the FOS? If it's a couple of hours, what could we do in the meantime other than sit around the port and wait? Any suggestions? (Also, any suggestions on what to do with our luggage-2 large suitcases- in the meantime). Thank you.
Sue L Posted May 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2007 By the time that you get your luggage and find a taxi it will probably be around 9:30 or so. You can go to the port at that time but you will be waiting until around 11:30 or so when they usually start check-in depending on how long it takes them to get everyone off from the previous cruise. We arrived at 10:30 and they took our luggage right away and we just went and hung out in the terminal. My suggestion would be to go out for breakfast either at the airport though I have no idea what is there or take a taxi over to Bayside Marketplace where they have several restaurants and some serve breakfast. You can normally start boarding about 11.00am, but you can drop off your luggage earlier than that. If you land at 8:30 then by the time you have your luggage etc and caught a cab, it will probably be 9:30, getting you to the port just before 10:00. You should be able to drop your bags off at that time, and then wait for check in to open, or if you haven't eaten, have breakfast at the airport and kill an hour that way. izodlacoste Posted May 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2007 Why don't you take a taxi from airport to port, drop off suitcases (keep the cab) and then take the cab over to south beach for brunch. You can go to Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road. (van dyke cafe on lincoln road is great) and then take a cab back to the port. OR you can take the cab from port to bayside (very short ride) and have brunch there. Why wait in the port for two hours or more (boring!)
PINEVIEW01 Posted May 12, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2007 I've collected my luggage and have gone back into airport to get breatfast. By that time you can grab a cab and go to the port.
