kellieandjeff Posted August 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2004 My husband and I are going on our first cruise Sept 5. Our packet arrived this week and there are so many exciting excursions to pick from. What is the best thing to do in Cozumel? I would really like to parasail. Is PB the best or only place to do it? This is my first time posting here so I hope I am doing it right.:)
CruiseMark Posted August 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2004 The parasailing is actually on the beach right next to PB, but you can make your reservations at PB, from what I understand. They also have Jet Ski's, while PB has a bunch of things to do as well, and some great food. As far as best excursions, Cozumel is known for two things when it comes to scenery: the beaches and the snorkeling/diving (which Jacques Cousteau called some of the best in the world). We're doing Paradise Beach, then a snorkeling excursion to a couple of the reefs through Eagle Ray Divers. Other activities include some good shopping as well as going to Carlos & Charlies, a wild party place if you're into that. You can also swim with the dolphins at Chankanaab park, for a fee. It depends on what you like to do! Some advice too is that Cozumel has a ton of activities outside of the ship excursions, so you can definitely save some money doing things on your own. But if one of those items in your packet jump out at you, go for it! Here are a few Web sites to get you started: Paradise beach http://paradise-beach-cozumel.net/ Eagle Ray Divers http://www.eagleraydivers.com/ Cozumel Insider http://www.cozumelinsider.com/ Have fun! CruiseMark Posted August 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2004 Mark, Do you have a website for anyone who offers Jet Ski rentals in Cozumel? San Francisco beach, right next to PB has them, as I mentioned. Here's a Web site : http://cozumelmexico.net/Playa_San_Francisco.html I believe it's $55/half hour, but PB Tom can verify that, I'm sure.
Live the good life Posted August 15, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2004 CruiseMark, Thanks for your helpful posts...DH, I, and daughter will be in Cozumel on 08/26/04...Debating between going to Paradise Beach or Mr. Sanchos...Like the authentic Mexican flavor of Mr. Sanchos and their pool, but willing to try both if they are of close proximities to each other. Just also found out about Grand Cozumel Occidental all-inclusive hotel day pass (on SF beach) and San Francisco Playa (which has a pool and beach has nice gradual descent safer for children?). Are they all within walking distance of one another? Is there music at PB and Francisco Playa? Any entrance fee for Francisco Playa? Thanks in advance for any info...Kim. CruiseMark Posted August 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2004 The best thing I can recommend is to get this absolutely fantastic map of Cozumel. It's much more than a map, it has a ton of text, info and reviews of each place. You can find it here: http://www.cancunmap.com Just select the Cozumel one and they'll send it to you on the honor system, so that if you like it, you can pay them and if you don't just send it back. sharzwing Posted September 1, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Highly recommend San Francisco Beach which is easy by taxi, and just a few miles from port. FREE chairs, FREE water trampoline, FREE "iceberg" inflatible rock climbing, FREE lots of stuff there. Great bar, great food, great water, sand, shops. For the children there was so much to do with no cost. For the adults, they also have jet ski's etc. Cut cost go to San Francisco beach.
