How cool that you were able to cruise with your mom....wish I had done that. Look forward to your review. Good luck with the interview;)
Carey and Kerry Posted June 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Glad you had a good time - I was on the trip before you and posted my review on this board. Will be very interested in reading your impressions and opinions!
Black Mariah Posted June 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2007 I was on this cruise, too. I've posted this question under it's own thread on this forum -- but what happend to the Captain of the Jewel (Captain Fafalios)? He (Fafalios) was replaced 2 days before the end of the cruise and removed from the personnel photo board of the ship's officers? Anyone have any information? OldMariner Posted June 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2007 Delighted to hear you had a great cruise. I was particularly drawn to fact that you traveled with your mother. My daughter and I (the mom) are set to sail June 12 from Istanbul. I'm so excited right now- I just can't wait. I have a few odd questions regarding the rooms: Will an iron and ironing board be available to us? Did you have a need to avail yourself of their laundry services? If so what are the rates? Is there a do-it-yourself laundry? OldMariner
Carey and Kerry Posted June 5, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2007 There is a do it yourself laundry on several decks - on deck 9 it had several washers and dryers and 2 ironing boards with irons. The detergent cost $1 (had to use 4 quarters) but washers, dryers and irons were free.
