cruisinwith2 Posted June 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2007 I've read in many places on this board that you can visit The Dig at Atlantis after 7 pm for free. I've been to Atlantis 2 times before (both at night) and have only ever seen the part of the aquarium that you can see from the restaurant. How do you get to the entrance of The Dig? :D
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted June 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2007 The entrance is actually right there at the restaurant. If you're standing upstairs in the hotel lobby overlooking the restaurant and aquarium ahead of you and below you, the Dig entrance is downstairs over to your far right. If one of the security guards is standing there, it's not open for FREE. Wait until he/she departs for the evening. It could be later than 7pm during the summer and earlier during the winter. Cassandra Posted June 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2007 My sister just came back from NCL Dawn, they went to the Atlantis after dinner since the ship was in port until 1am. The guards were all gone & they had free run of the place. She said she wished she could have brought her swimsuit, the pools were still open with people in them & they could have gone swimming. scubagirrl Posted June 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2007 we will be in port til 100 am what time should i take the kids to swim and are the slides open late The pools close around 6:30pm/7pm in the summer months. The slides close at 5pm. (winter months are much earlier) After hour swimming is not permitted. When security does it's rounds, they throw the kids out of the pools. Some sneak back in again. Pools are not open for guests or anyone else. You can get a day pass for $115 pp from the casino kiosk or rent a room.
bajathree Posted June 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2007 Security at the Dig seems to be hit or miss. When they know the cruise ships are in they are usually on full patrol....especially during the early day hours...in the evening it usually easies up but you just really don't know. The pools do close pretty early so I wouldn't think you are going to go swimming after 7pm. I have stayed there several times and sometimes you are constantly asked for your hotel key other times not....but I will say that they have gotten tighter. jlfros1 Posted June 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 29, 2007 just came back from the Bahamas and went to Atlantis around 7 or so. We just walked in and no one bothered us and we went through the dig without paying also.
