jsiegel Posted April 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Has anyone taken the "Taste of Haines" excursion in the past? It's a 2 hour tour of the Haines Brewing Company for tasting beer and Dejon Delights for smoked fish, offered by Princess. Wondering if my folks (celebrating their 50th anniversary) would enjoy that (sis and I would treat them.) They've been to Alaska a few times so have an "Been there, done that" attitude to many things. santaharry Posted April 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2004 The taste of Haines is a town tour and you have to take the water taxi to and from Haines and it is a nice trip. Check with a local vendor (Dolly Varden is the one we used) and save off of the cruise line price. Also the cruise lines generally do not use the locals for their excursions so you don't get a feel for thae area. We have been to Alaska times and have not been disapointed with any of the local vendors we have used. Check out the area you plan to visit on the internet - there are several for Haines and then determine what you would like to do.
