m steve Posted June 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2007 I have heard that there are whales of all types around Dominica most of the year. Anyone experience sightings? Will be going in Dec. and hope to do a whale watch tour.
obnurse Posted June 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2007 We did a whale-watching tour through Princess in early March. Although I'd do it again unquestionably, we saw one whale up close and personal and another in the distance. No guarantees, but still worthwhile. Have fun! SqueakyDust Posted June 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2007 We were there in late November 2005 and did a whale watching tour. Nice boat, especially on the outside decks. We saw two 'pods' and followed them when they surfaced. The guys are brilliant at spotting them. The whales are much smaller than you'd expect, but it's still awesome to see them. Only downside for us was that whilst we were waiting for the whales to resurface (45 mins I think) they opened the punch and played the same tunes over and over, and very loud. The boat had several families aboard and no one was looking for a party boat, although they tried (and failed) to make it so.
keep on cruising Posted June 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2007 SqueakyDust What whale watching tour did you use. We are going this November and I'm looking for a serious whale watching tour - not a party boat. Thanks
Lady Vidora Posted January 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2008 Did you wind up booking a tour? Who did you use and how did it go? We will be there in January.
