Kayak in Skaway or Ketchikan

My son (12) and I are going on Princess the end of July. We want to take a Kayaking tour. Does anyone have any suggestions of which port is best, where to go or who to use? We would also like to take a fishing trip, but would like a tour that does catch and release (my son doesn't want the fish to die). Any suggestions?

We did Eagle Island Kayak (through NCL) in Ketchikan. Saw eagles, whale, seal, etc. We loved it... second only to our whale watch in Juneau.

We have a group of 7 kayaking with Southeast Sea Kayaks in Ketchikan. We made the arrangements via their website, not through the cruise line. Our adventure will be in Orcas Cove, but they also offer a tour that paddles around Creek Street and along the coast.

We did Eagle Islands kayaking thru Princess last week. They used "Southeast Exposure", they have a website. Great guides they also do independent tours almost anything you want. We recommend them highly.
