Shopping and Beach at the pier?

Is there shopping and a nice beach at the pier or how far away?

A nice large beach is three blocks from where the courtesy bus will drop you. Very good restaurants accross the Malecon that will serve you on the beach if you wish. Fish is sooooo fresh.

how was your stop in progreso? did you just stay at the nearby corona beach or did you get to the reef yucatan resort? will be there july 31

Anything that you recommend to purchase here as opposed to buying it in Cozumel ?
