Beer smuggling tip:

Grab a case of soda (allowed to bring on) and empty out all but the soda on the "outsides". Fill the middle with beer. Seal back up and you're ready to go. If anyone opens up the case, all they will see is the actual soda.

Disclaimer: I have never smuggled beer on a ship because it is not allowed! ;)

What/How much is considered a "nice tip"?

 

Just curious...

 

Usually for a 4/5 day cruise, we tip about $10/$15. For our last 6 day on the Liberty, $20.

 

We bring a small collapsable cooler in our luggage, something you could pack a large lunch in. When we unpack, we put about 6 beers in the cooler with bill on top and a note that says, "Ice Please. :-)".

 

Our last steward would actually carry the cooler to the ice machine every day and fill it up. The 2nd day we saw him carrying it and thought he was confiscating our beer.:eek: But when we got back later, there was the cooler, and our ice cold beverages. :D
