There are a few other articles about it as well at http://www.adn.com (Alaska Daily News). A friend in Anchorage just told me that a ton of smoke from the southern fires is blowing over the city now. He's expecting rain this weekend, so hopefully that will clean the air up a bit and squelch some of the fires.

Not only smoke from the fires from the south but from the north too. Really eerie when we were out early today. Seems to have lifted some but still definitely smells like one big camp fire outside.
