Just so you know this question was asked onm a thread on this page about BCN hotels and there was no reply.Arey asking for personal experience or just a review?You can check it out on TripAdvisor,com or Vernere,com...sorry I can't post the links as I am using another network. BTW, it seemed to me there was another thread re this hotel as there are 2 with similar names,but don't hold m to that.

We stayed at the Avenida Palace in Barcelona back in 2001 if that is the hotel you're talking about. We enjoyed it very much. Room was quite comfortable with a very nice continental breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance to Las Ramblas, shopping and restaurants.

We stayed at Casa Camper in Oct 06 for three days prior to a cruise on Century. The service was extraordinary (eg, we inadvertently left our raincoats in our rooms during checkout - they held the coats for us and shipped them to our home), the food and drinks were quite handy, the location was very convenient. Check Tripadvisor (where this hotel is currently ranked first among over 400 hotels in Barcelona).

We recently stayed at the Petit Palace Opera Garden which is a modern, contemporary hotel about 7 months old and in a great location, right off La Ramblas. It was very nice but rather expensive (400 EURO), however, our room held our entire family of 5 (it has about 3 rooms that can accomodate up to 6 people).
