First Cruise RC Vision 7/20 Questions

Hello Everyone,

I'm glad a friend recommended this site (even though I can't get everything to work). Everyone is so good at giving answers I thought I'd ask a few.

My first cruise ever leaves Seattle on the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas on July 20th with stops in Juneau, Skagway, and Prince Rupert.

My first questions are about the excursions which I've booked through RC, but can change soon if needed. If anyone has done these, can you give me some feedback on each??

Juneau - (I tried to book the "Whale Watching, Mendenhall Glacier & Orca Point Lodge", but the site said "Inquire onboard". I figure that means it's sold out - correct?) So instead, I booked the "Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Watch" and separately the "Gold Creek Salmon Bake" afterwards.

Skagway - "Alaska Wildlife Experience and Lynn Fjord Cruise" (includes a drive into the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, the Kroschel Films Wildlife Center with orphaned wildlife, etc.)

Prince Rupert - "Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Watch" (boat excursion)

Also, I checked the Roll Call board for a meet and mingle, but didn't see anything for this cruise. Is anyone else on here going on this cruise?

I am sooooo excited!!

Thanks so much for all your help!

Mikki,

I put my name on the roll call for a M&M. There is one other person on there. If you'd like to add yourself, please do. I'll try to get my 14 other friends to go. Hope to see you there.

It's getting closer.......

Actually it doesn't mean the excursion is sold out. If you want to change, simply go to the shore excursion desk right away when you board. They always save a few openings on various excrusions for this purpose since not everyone has internet access. You would then be able to cancel the first one and book your first choice...Important though is to do it right away when you board.

Hi,

We are traveling from Florida with my boy/girl twin 14 year olds (they turn 15 on the cruise!) My husband, myself and My Mom.

We are doing the heli, glacier, dogsled in Juneau

White Pass and Trail Camp (the kids want to pan for gold) in Skagway

I couldn't sign up for the grizzly bear excursion in Prince Rupert because it was sold out. They said to try to sign up on board. I did just contact one of the tour operators directly to see if they could accomodate us but I haven't heard back yet.

Anyone else have kids we could get together? My son is a book nut has read everything, big into Nation States on line game, writing stories, and of course every video game known to man.

My daughter is into Pokemon games, reading, writing stories, movies.

I had heard about the meet and greet but hadn't seen too much activity I will go sign up now.

We went on the June 8th cruise on Vision and loved it. I'm sure you all will have a great time. If you are taking the train in Skagway, sit on the left side of the train--better scenery on the left. Mendenhall Glacier and the Glacier Gardens were great in Juneau. In Prince Rupert, we did the Rainforest Walk to Butze Rapids and went to the Museum of Northern BC. We thought the ship and the crew were great. Look for whales on Sunday morning between 7 am-9am. We saw a bunch and it was marked on the map outside of the casino as the whale watching area. Tracy Arm Fjord is very beautiful. Lots for the kids to do--pool heated to 86 degrees, shuffle board, ping pong, rock climbing wall, card room, and game room. Try to leave some time for Seattle--you could sightsee for a week around there(Space Needle, Museum of Flight, EMP, Science Fiction Museum, Pike Place Fish Market, Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helen's, Boeing Factory Tour, NW Trek Park, and more.

We just returned from Alaska July 6th 2007 -- we went on a very short notice - so the things we wanted to do were sold out!! We did go on the train ride in Sagway - set on left side of train better view. We had a wonderful room with LARGE balcony - we both had a pair of bonoculars - it was hard to leave our balcony - the views were BREATHTAKING - saw whales going and returning!! only one day of rain in Prince Rupert == great weather all other time. We enjoyed having breakfast in the dinning room rather than in Windjammer -- Windjammer has more choices -- but we enjoyed the service in the dinning room - it was mostly ADULTS. I got a GREAT haircut in the salon from ALEX. My husband had accupuncture for his BACK - one treatment and he is pain FREE today!!! A wonderful CRUISE - we are already talking about going BACK .
