cmpaula Posted July 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2007 The Discover Scuba excursion through NCLA on Maui was fabulous! Lahaina Divers is the tour operator and they are professional, fun and very patient. You will have about a 30 minute classroom instruction and then out to the boat. The dive consists of getting geared up, getting in the water while holding onto a long rope off the stern, the instructor then takes 4 divers down 4 ropes on the starboard side so the divers can perform skills tests. This includes taking your regulator out of your mouth, clearing your mask and showing that you can clear your ears. AFter everyone completed this, you have about 15 to 20 minutes on the boat before doing your "real" dive. THe dive is near a submerged pier in Lahaina. There is a ton of beautiful marine life to see and the instuctors go at your pace, not theirs. It is a great introduction to diving and I highly recommend it! Best wishes for a fantastic time:)
