What To Do With Luggage In Miami

We usually rent a car and store the luggage in the trunk.

Budget is at the Sheraton Biscayne Bay, maybe a $10 cab ride away. The car usually costs us $35.00 total for a full size, no charge for drop off at MIA or FLL. So, for $45.00, you solve the luggage problem, have transportation to see the sights AND transportation to the airport.

If there are more than 2 of you, it's the most economical way!

This one of the reasons why I love American Airlines. When we got off the Explorer of the Seas, we checked our luggage at the AA center at the port! We got our boarding passes and went shopping at the Dolphin mall. We made it to our plane with 15 minutes to spare, running on with passes in hand. Our luggage was waiting for us at LAX when we got off.It is so cool!

Where is the AA center at the port? Can you still check your luggage there? We are flying American also and would love to get rid of luggage since our plane does not leave until 6pm.

We also checked our luggage at the port a couple of years ago with American Airlines, but it was right where we got off of the Explorer of the Seas. Not sure if non RCCL cruisers can use this service, plus I think it is quite a ways from where Carnival docks at the port of Miami. I just booked American flights yesterday for our 5/1 Valor cruise and was getting ready to post a question to these boards asking if Carnival also provided AA check in at the port.

Call up aa for info on luggage check in at the dock. It's not just a luggage check in; it's flight check in. They check your luggage for bomb residue and whatever else, then send to the airport for you. Also, they issue you a boarding pass right there, so you can literally run right onto the plane (this is what we did, got on the plane with just minutes to spare!
