Guest Posted May 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Help please. Doing a pre-cruise stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel. Does anyone recall room numbers of the Deluxe Harbourview rooms directly facing the harbour? Any room recommendations that have particularly good views, good location? Thanks -SeaFish
Esme Posted May 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2004 We stayed there last year but had a city view and have no idea what the room number was or any of the room numbers. When booking tell then you want a Harbour view room. They don't seem to have an 800# but you can contact them by phone or fax Pan Pacific Vancouver 300-999 Canada Place, Vancouver B.C., V6C 3B5,Canada Tel: (1-604) 662 8111, Fax: (1-604) 685 8690 It's a beautiful hotel and the staff are excellent. They will even take your luggage to the ship for you. When you are ready to check out call the front desk, tell them which ship you are going on and they will collect your luggage, tag it, and take it directly to the ship. It was so easy. Have a great cruise. What ship are you sailing on. We were on the Volendam last August.

mnwildfan2 Posted May 4, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Hi everyone, We're staying at the Fairmont Waterfront and have a port side room. The web page says it looks out over the cruise ship terminal and the helioport. Does anyone know if this is true? Technically we booked harbourview rooms (looking over Stanley Park and the Lion's Gate bridge) and I can argue if need be. BUT, what I want to see are the cruise ships. ell52 Posted May 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2004 If you have a harbourview room with view of the heloport and ship terminal, you will definitely see cruise ships. The only building between the Fairmont Waterfront and the water is the Pan Pacific Hotel/Canada Place - which is where the cruise ships dock! Enjoy your stay. You'll love it there! BCHappyGal Posted May 7, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 7, 2004 You have all chosen great hotels!!! The Pan Pacific is a favourite hotel of mine. The staff are wonderful and have the attitude "the guest is aways right and whatever the guest wants will be done". When I stayed there I was to attend a Japanese night - unfortunately i could not remember how to tie my japanese Kimono. I went downstairs (holding the kimono closed) to the japanese restaurant and one of the waitresses took me to the ladies to help me tie the kimono properly. You will love the view most of the rooms overlook the harbour and as the cruise ship tie up on all 3 sides it doesn't matter which side you are on. The Fairmont is accross the street from the Pan pacific and another great hotel although I have never stayed there. The hyatt is an older hotel so your rooms will be larger. You are more in the center of Vancouver's Business district and very close to Pacific Center a big shopping mall. To walk to the Cruise ship terminal is about 5 blocks downhill. Enjoy your time in our wonderful city.
