tidelover Posted August 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2004 We are booking a short cruise in August 2005. While we are set on doing the Paradise Beach visit in December, What else is there to do? Is it safe to rent mopeds? any info will help. Who knows?? we may just end up back at PB. Depends on how the first trip goes, Tom. Thanks
Cozumel_Tom Posted August 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2004 We`ve had many repeat customers, I suspect you`ll be among them:)! Do NOT rent a moped. It`s not safe, there are speed bumps that'll jump out at you and make you crash. Cab drivers travelling at the speed of sound, other tourists making their moped debuts, bugs in your teeth, yer butt going numb, etc. And remember, road rash, extreme makeovers, and death are always easier achieved on two wheels as opposed to four! Rent a topless old-style VW BUG! Still WAY fun, (esp. trying to find reverse, ;) and WAY safer! Hasta la vista!

solita Posted August 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2004 Please do not rent a moped. Tom is not exaggerating. I really think that the places that do rent them should just go ahead and issue big bull's eye targets for the tourist. Be safe and spend the few extra bucks for a rental vehicle.
