Howdy777 Posted July 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2007 This was the first cruise in 15 years for my DW and I, and I can't believe we waited so long. I think we are hooked again. This was a gloryous vacation (pardon the pun). Since we live in Central Florida, it was a fairly easy drive to Port Canaveral on the day of our cruise. As we pulled into the port we caught our first glimpse of the Glory, our home for the next 7 days. We arrived around 10:30am but were not allowed to enter as they were still disembarking the previous weeks passengers. We left and came back around 11:00 and they let us in. We went straight to where we dropped off our luggage, parked and entered the terminal. I can honestly say that by the time we entered the terminal and the time we were on the ship, was no more than 15 minutes. Unbelievable. We went up to the lido deck and walked around and had lunch at the Red Sail. After lunch we went to our cabin around 1:30. .
Howdy777 Posted July 5, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted July 5, 2007 We just loved our balcony. It's balcony only cabin from now on. Since our luggage had not arrived yet, we decided to venture out to get familar with the rest of the ship.
Howdy777 Posted July 5, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 5, 2007 I must say the colors on the Glory are striking, but ok. The Amber Palace where the shows took place was a little over the top though. After roaming around and then the muster drill (which was not too bad), it was back to our cabin to unpack and experience sail away on our balcony. After sail away it was time to get ready for dinner. We had the early sitting 5:45, so we didn't have much time. We had originally requested the 6:15 sitting but the ship was sold out and there wasn't anything available. It worked out fine. We also were seated at a table for two which was alittle strange at first but ended up being ok. Our servers were great and did a terrific job. They remembered our names the first night and were really friendly and personable. The food in the dining room was very good every night. The rest of the night was filled with more roaming, casino and welcome aboard show at the palace. This will probably be my only negative part of the review. The Glory dancers were ok but not real polished...the female singer was pretty good, but the male singer (Ed Chen) I hate to say was horrible. I don't think he would have made it passed the auditions for American Idol. The other performers; magicians, comedians, and especially Marcus Anthony the Motown singer were very good. Day 2 Nassau We arrived in port around 8:30am and left around 2:00pm. This was plenty of enough time in Nassau. Not my favorite port. We walked about 10-15 minutes from the ship to the Hilton Resort where we payed $15pp for a day pass and had full use of their private beach and pool. We also visited the Straw Market briefly and then back to the ship.
Howdy777 Posted July 5, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 5, 2007 This was the night of the Captain's Cocktail party and the first of two formal nights so it was dress up time for the dining room.

Howdy777 Posted July 5, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted July 5, 2007 After dinner we changed and went to the show and contributed alittle cash to the casino. We are non-smokers so we didn't do any of the bars. Can't really comment on the entertainment that was in the different lounges. Day 3 Seaday: Had breakfast at the Red Sail buffet. Typical breakfast buffet. Pretty decent though. Time to layout by the pool and relax. [/url] There were so many choices for lunch. They had the buffet of course, along with the Deli, which had a killer Rueben sandwich, hamburger and hotdog grill with all the fixings and great fries, FISH AND CHIPS restaurant which I LOVED. The Onion Fritter was soooo good. Not to mention the 24 hour pizza kitchen which had great pizza and calzones. More laying out and relaxing. We made our reservations at the Emerald Room Supper Club for this night, so it was time to get ready. All I can say is it is worth every penny of the $30pp you have to pay. The service was impeccable and the 7-course meal was everything you would expect from a 5-star restaurant. Our Russian server Our Polish server Ceaser Salad. I really like your pictures in Emerald Room Supper Club. :-) As soon as you get on board the ship, they have a display and sign up table right there in the lobby. We made reservations on a non formal night. The sooner you make reservations the better choices you have for nights and times.
