After showering and changing, we were off to downtown for some shopping.

St. Marten was the bomb. We are considering coming back for a land vacation.

Downtown Philippsburg. If you are looking for diamonds and jewelry, this is the place.

Another beach shot. Just so beautiful.

A great dinner after a great day.

Red Snapper. I'm the one with all the seafood.

All the dining room servers provided the entertainment for dinner each night with singing and dancing. It was a hoot.

After dinner we were treated to a wonderful sunset.

After the show they had a midnight mexican buffet and party on the lido deck. It was so much fun watching everyone having a good time dancing and eating.

Day 6 Seaday

Slept in after such a wonderful and busy day yesterday and went to the Red Sail buffet for breakfast. Another day on deck laying out and relaxing. Yes, there were chair hogs saving chairs, but you could always find a place. It may be up a level, but there were always chairs available even on a sold out ship.

Lots of games played by the main pool area. I will tell you of one incident that happened but will not show you a picture. We had a male THONG performer that weighed about 280 pounds with a belly that had probably had too many beers. Not a pretty picture. Lots of hooting and hollering. Someone must have dared him to do it. Oh well, a good laugh anyway.

This was our second formal night and it's always fun to see what people will wear. Most everyone did dress up, but there were a few that wouldn't dress up for their own funeral, let alone a formal night. But we did.

Of course this was the night for the baked alaska dessert. Unfortunately they don't light it and put it on their heads like they did on our last cruise (15 years ago).

It was still good though.

The sweet little girl at the table next to us even liked it.

This was also the night for the Midnight Gala Buffet. They allow you between 11:00 and 11:45 for pictures and then the buffet starts at midnight. Pretty amazing looking food, but mostly salads and stuff. Oh yeah, and desserts. We opted for pizza.

Day 7 Seaday.

So sad, our last full day. Again we slept in and had breakfast at the buffet. This was the only day we had rain. It rained most of the morning but cleared up long enough to get about 2 more hours of sun before more rain. Last day to have my fish and chips with the onion fritter for lunch.:(

Took in the debarkation speech, shopped and watched some games and chilled most of the afternoon. Dinner was good as usual. We then went back to the cabin to pack before the last show and was greeted by Cheta.

The show was Carnival Legends night. Earlier in the week, they had karoke auditions for passengers to participate in this show. They picked several to perform as different celebrities such as Elvis, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Garth Brooks, Britney Spears, Frank Sinatra, etc. Some were actually quite good. Was a real fun show. Last night to donate to the casino. I did win $20, so I quit while I was ahead.:) One last stroll on deck before calling it a night.

Debarkation:

This is really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be if you just have a little patience. We did not do self-assist, so we had a leisurely breakfast at the buffet and waited for our color luggage tags and deck to disembark. When they called our color and deck we proceded down to the deck where we had to get off the ship. We were in line about 45 minutes to go through customs and made our way to luggage claim downstairs. Our luggage was already there waiting on us. We used a porter to take our luggage to our vehicle and it was on the road by 10am.

Summary:

All-in-all this was a great cruise and experience. Carnival exceeded our expectations in most areas and we will definately consider them again. I for got to mention how comfortable the beds were. Great time and great memories.

Great Review!! Brings back memories from our St Patties cruise. We also had to experience the larger men in thongs (not a pretty sight) We loved our cruise on the Glory and will probably sail her again (after we go to all the islands at least once) I have also told my DH that I would like to stay on St. Maarten for a week or so - loved the island!!!!

Thanks for the wonderful review and pictures. I took my first ever cruise on the Glory in May 2007. I was amazed and in awe of the experience. Your review brought it all back to me like I was there. Thanks for sharing the memories.
