dprg644 Posted July 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2007 This is our first cruise and we want to do the stingray encounter and island tour. It shows several to choose from but my question is what is the difference between stingray sandbar and stingray city and is there one better then the other? Rare nellydean Posted July 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2007 apparently, stingray city is in much deeper water (10-12 ft) while the sandbar is just that, a sandbar where the water comes waist high by all accounts (unless it's high tide) we are going on liberty soon and are just about to book a sandbar excursion :)

ebandive Posted July 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2007 it is true that the real stingray city is deeper and the sandbar is shallow...however do your research when you book because many advertise "stingray city" actually go to the sandbar. We did the sandbar and had a great time! :D
