rhumney Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Carnival Liberty - I intend to bring a case or two of wine onboard (large family). What can I expect in the diningroom with regards to corkage fees. Every bottle or hit & miss? Thanks:)
RobertGT Posted July 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Will they allow you to bring that much wine ? Or will you have every member carry some ?
rhumney Posted July 12, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 12, 2007 OOPS! Thanks for the question. I just assumed it was okay .... Celebrity allows you to bring a case. I just checked with Carnival and it is one bottle per cabin .... oh no! I guess my question is answered! Thanks
JJMM Posted July 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2007 We drank our bottle of wine in the dining room and the waiter was very nice not to charge the corkage fee. They also stored the bottle so that we were able to drink it during dinner. They are supposed to charge you a $10 (I believe) corkage fee. Our waiters were great and we made sure to add this to tip. :)
Bella Luna Posted July 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2007 OOPS!Thanks for the question. I just assumed it was okay .... Celebrity allows you to bring a case. I just checked with Carnival and it is one bottle per cabin .... oh no! I guess my question is answered! Thanks Its actually one bottle per adult, not cabin. We had maybe 3 or 4 bottles of our own wine in the dining room and were never charged corkage. Carnival had a pretty decent wine list on the Liberty with good prices versus a land restaurant. Even better selection in Harry's. Have a great trip, Helene
mafiadon Posted July 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Just cruised her in April and brought 3 bottles on with no problem, there was 14 in our group for dinner at night and we had many bottles of wine per night and our waiters never charged up a corkage fee, but that is not to say that your waiter won't. We loved the Liberty. Linda
