Mr.J Posted July 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2007 After charging the final payment for our FOS cruise in September I had 9,325 points. 675 points short of getting two 5,000 point rewards. I remembered seeing something on the RCI website about gift certificates. Turns out you can buy a gift certificate for yourself, for whatever amount, get double points and have it applied as an on board credit. So after a quick call to RCI for a $350 gift certificate I now have enough points for two $50 on board credits. It's money that we would spend on board anyway and by pre-paying we got the extra $50 credit. Every little bit helps! Although I'm sure this has been done before, I haven't seen any recent posts about it and thought it might help some of you in the same situation. AFT_LOVER Posted July 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2007 we get from being stockholders, from NextCruise (the onboard cruise deposit), from the RCCL VISA and even our TA when she rebates her commission. So we prepay tips as it is put on our account, which we formerly got money from the casino to pay tips, much easier. Any left over is nice to deposit in the bank. Like they are paying us to cruise......
