bruce-r Posted July 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2007 You'd have an easier time buying it online and probably get a better price too.
cmdchiefthom Posted July 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2007 I've always had great service from B&H photo. Do a search, and follow the link to get there.
mowrider Posted July 29, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2007 Do a search: underwater camera flash. I got a "snap sights" camera. It has a flash and underwater case, and is reuseable. good price too

Any recommdation for shop at either place? Nothing is cheap in St. Thomas. Think about it. It's an island so everything is imported. You can't count on having a good selection on an island either. georoc01 Posted July 31, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Check out online for a camera like this SeaLife SL321 ECOshot Digital Camera I have the Mini, which is the diving version of this camera. The only downside is the battery life, bring rechargables or new batteries for each day you are taking it out.
jimc_usa Posted July 31, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 31, 2007 You may also be thinking about an inexpensive underwater disposable camera that you can buy in K-Mart for $6.00 but will cost $20-$25 on the ship. If you never plan on using the camera again(except maybe on the next vacation) this is the way to go.

If you never plan on using the camera again(except maybe on the next vacation) this is the way to go. I disagree. IMO, disposable cameras produce disposable photos. A housing from many of the Canon and Olympus digital cameras is an affordable way to go. It will protect your camera from more than just water. Sand on the beach, rain, and splashes from water rides all come to mind as places I'd want a protected camera. You can get the Canon A540 for Around $160 and the housing for $156 at Amazon
