Go phone Cingular?

Has anyone used the go phone Cingular in the Med? My US Cellular phone won't work over there so I was thinking of gettting one of these pre paid phones but want to know how good they are over there. Does anyone have any experience with them? They are like $19.00 at Walmart and then you add $ for your minutes. There is a 3.99 monthly fee (which I would only use for the one time) and your rates are pretty good for international. Thanks for your help. We leave next week so I wish I had know about this phone sooner. Thanks

I may be very wrong,but I don't think they work over there.You may just want to buy a phone over there to use to call back to the US and then save it ofr any future trips.There is a lot of info re phones on this board if you do a search..there was one thread in just the past few days.

I use Cingular and they work in Europe, in fact all over the world. I have a quad band. They do not work while at sea (in Princess)

I know Cingular works in Europe but I was wondering specifically about the pre paid go phone they have. Evidently that one might not work there? Thanks

Pre-paid phones generally do not work outside the States, even if on the same network as contract phones which do.

Maybe one you can buy in Europe that lets you call the US..like Virgin??? Just a guess,a the US is so far behind with technology that I am just guessing a phone bought over there would work to call here than one bought here to use there:D

Do a search on "tracfone" in the NCL forum. Several people there report that Tracfones work fine at sea using NCL's shipboard towers. If you're not using NCL, try searching searching the forum for your line.
