insearchofperfectbeach Posted July 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2007 Has anyone found a good place to snorkel from the beach, or do you have to take a boat out to the reef? I'd like to save money by finding a place right off the beach, if possible. But if it's definitely worth it to go out to the reef, I'd like to know that too. Because of the sea grass that is left untouched right at the beach and further out... good snorkelling is best found on a tour to the barrier reef and other points......I think you would be disappointed snorkelling off the beach front. OttoCal Posted August 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2007 In Caye Caulker you can snorkel from 'The Split' area of the island, but be aware of any currents- ask locals for tips and hints. There are no beaches in Belize City- you will need to get out to a Caye.
