RettaPanda Posted August 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2004 :) Hello, I was wondering if anybody has done a four wheel drive excursion on st. Maarten and if so the pros and cons about it. Thanks for any info.
gtaylor Posted August 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2004 I didn't even realize a 4x4 tour was offered on St. Maarten. Would love any information you may come across. I wonder where they might go? My imagination is stretched here.
RettaPanda Posted August 21, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted August 21, 2004 I will be on dawn princess in october and princess lists this excursion as follows on their website. St. Maarten 4wd Safari Adventure At the pier, meet your driver/guide and board your assigned 4WD drive vehicle, a gaily colored, open top truck. Travel back roads and trails to visit the island’s scenic attractions as your guide points out sights of interest. Soft drinks and beer are served during your tour. Drive to Orient Bay and spend an hour relaxing at St. Martin's most popular beach. Head to Grand Case, a small fishing village known for its lovely beaches and superb restaurants. Travel overland to Marigot, the French capital, where you have free time to stroll the quaint shops and chic little boutiques, relax at a sidewalk cafe, or visit the open-air market. Return to the Dutch side via Cole Bay, stopping for photos of magnificent Simpson Bay Lagoon and neighboring islands. Your tour ends in Philipsburg. You may choose to remain in town for independent sightseeing or shopping. You are then responsible for your return to the ship.
