Anyone done the discover scuba excursion?

We are thinking about doing the discover scuba excursion offered by the cruiseline. How much time do you spend in the swimming pool vs. swimming with the fishes? Is it better to do snuba instead?

Your ship also goes to St Thomas, where they have the best Discover diving, right from the shore, in pool like conditions, but you are with the fish the whole time

My brother-in-law is already signed up through RCCL to do the discover scuba tour in Barbados. It is a 5 hour excursion for $99 so he thinks his is a better deal than the one at St. Thomas. How long was your excursion in St. Thomas? In your opinion, is St. Thomas so much better that it doesn't matter that the diving time is shorter? The excursion on Barbados uses a swimming pool and then goes to Folkestone marine park for the dive. Do you know anything about how the diving is in Folkestone? Will we see more interesting fish at Coki Beach?

 

Sorry for all the questions, I am trying to get some ammunition to convince my brother-in-law to switch! :D
