bruce-r Posted August 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2007 The better choice would have been to ask for comments before you made a choice, IMO.
drew sailbum Posted August 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2007 The local Avis operation is well regarded. And of all the island maps provided by the rental car companies in Cayman, Avis' is the best by far.
LDR Posted August 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2007 We just rented a Jeep Wrangler from Avis to drive to Rum Point. No problems. Very smooth operation. Enjoy the convertible!

Well, it's my least planned-for cruise ever, totally last minute and the reservation is for a convertible, the only one left on on the island I think, cruise in 10 days.... life comes at ya some times.... I can easily cancel if the feed back was 100% negative..... "dee car eez dee ting mon" LOL How about opinions on car rentals in Curacao in January 2009, my five-away cruise... and MOST planned cruise ever. So, did they have the car at the cruise port for you? Haven't rented a car there ever, though been many times.

We were there a little over a year ago and there were still signs of the destruction.
LDR Posted August 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2007 No, we were told to walk down to the Blue Iguana by the Hard Rock for the courtesy pickup. The ladies in the shop called Avis and someone arrived to get us about 10 minutes later. We went to the airport to sign the paperwork and got the jeep. I still can't believe how easy it was to get all this accomplished! Easier than getting the ferry over to St. John's:)
