Lindalu2u Posted August 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2007 We are renting a car in Skagway and following Murray's Guide to Emerald Lake in early September. Is there a way to arrange for a box lunch or snacks to take with us? The restaurant options along the drive don't get rave reviews. Thanks Linda

Thanks Linda Since you can't take food off the ship, finding a place in Skagway for sandwiches or box lunch would be your best bet.

Yukon Posted August 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2007 Thanks for your quick response. Any idea where we could purchase sandwiches etc. at 8-9:am? If you can't find things to your liking at the grocery store, the Sweet Tooth Cafe on Broadway does good bag lunches. Murray

Meditrina Posted August 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2007 We just got back from our trip - we were on the 7/30 NB sailing on the Coral Princess. We followed Murray's guide (great guide!) and rented a car to drive up to Emerald Lake. This was a terrific drive, the scenery was spectacular - and we had a beautiful sunny day. We purchased some snacks at the grocery store in Skagway (the Avis clerk can tell you how to get to the store -its very easy to find) for us and our 3 kids, and then had a picnic just off the road. Our only disappointment was that we did not see any wildlife on the drive. Also, we were not very impressed with Caribou Crossing, although my daughters enjoyed meeting the sled dogs.
